Vacant teaching posts in universities should be filled -UGC

University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman M. Jagadish Kumar. There are a total of 18,956 permanent teaching posts in Central Universities. Out of this 6180 are vacant. In many places teaching is done using temporary teachers. This should be avoided. Jagadish Kumar also informed that central and state universities should speed up appointments to permanent teaching posts.
