Schools may not be open as part of Unlock 3 which starts from August 1. In addition to schools, metro services may not be started, indoor swimming pools and gymnasiums may not be open.The central government had initially planned to allow the opening of schools and the launch of metro train services as part of further easing of restrictions. But the decision was cancelled in the last minute due to the spread of Covid 19 in many part of the country.
With the new concessions, there will be normal life in areas outside the contingency zones. But states can be allowed to impose restrictions on these areas if necessary.
After a 68-day lockdown, there have been two concessions since June. More measurements were allowed each time. But in view of the rising number of Covid patients in the country, a decision on what concessions will be allowed will be taken after discussions with the state chief ministers today.
