Twitter has announced that it would soon announce some of its core infrastructure to the Google Cloud Platform. The migration, which is aimed at better data management, would move Twitter’s cold data storage as well as the flexible compute Hadoop clusters. The process, according to the company, would enhance the productivity of Twitter’s engineering teams.
The migration is also expected to bring a consistency for Twitter’s infrastructure. The company further maintained that the migration would mostly result in an improved security ecosystem. While informing the news via a blogpost, Twitter officials maintained that its Hadoop file systems host more than 300PT of data.
