Twitter profit downs, but user base grows further

Coupled with its increased user base, Twitter has witnessed yet another profit report. The first quarter profit report of the company stands at $61 million. Interestingly, it was video advertisements, which accounted for more than half of all Twitter’s advertising revenue. While the figure seems a bit down, compared to the $91 million, it made three months ago, it certainly bring cheers to the Twitter camp. Compared to the previous quarter, the company has witnessed a 10 percent increase in user base. As against the user base of 330 million at the end of 2017 financial year, Twitter has got 336 million users in its camp right now. Out of the new user base, 5 million are from overseas.

While announcing the news, Twitter officials maintained that the company had introduced more than 30 individual changes to make Twitter safer. The micro blogging site has also washed out more than 150k apps, which were used for bulk tweeting.
