Toyota has officially announced the launching date of Yaris Sedan in India. The model, priced at INR 8.75 Lakh, would get launched in India on May 18. With the official announcement, it is certain that rivals including Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City and Hyundai Verna, would start facing a tough competition from Toyota. There are a total of 4 variants of Yaris, available from the Toyota camp – J, G, V and VX. The top variant, VX is been priced at INR 14.07 Lakh.
Toyota Yaris comes in a ‘petrol only engine’ option. The 1.5 liter petrol mill develops a peak power of 108 bhp, while the peak torque figure stands at 140 Nm. As was claimed by the company officials, the 6 speed manual gearbox option would deliver a fuel efficiency of 17.1 kmpl. On the other hand, the 7 step CVT automatic gearbox, delivers a fuel efficiency of 17.8 kmpl. The booking for Toyota Yaris has already begun and customers were required to pay a token amount of INR 50,000 for the process.
