Ranbir Kapoor starrer ‘Animal’ is getting huge applause. The film had to face many criticisms. The film’s male-centric storyline and violence have faced criticism. Now the director of the film, Sandeep Reddy Wanga, has come forward to respond to the controversies. Sandeep was responding to the question of how Abrar Haq, the character played by Bobby Deol who played the villain in the film, was from the Muslim community. He revealed this in an interview given to Galata Plus. ‘There will be more than one wife in Islam. I thought it could be used in this picture. Doing so can magnify the theme of the film. Apart from that, I have never tried to show a Muslim in a bad way through my film’ Sandeep Reddy Wanga responded to the controversy.
The hit director also shared other views related to religion. ‘Many people are told to go to church or to Baba when they are in a state of lack of confidence. Many even tell such people to change their names. I have seen such people change their religion when they have many bad experiences in their life’ Sandeep pointed out. ‘They will feel that it is a new birth in their bad condition. But this is a complete change of their identity. “We see a lot of people converting to Christianity and Islam, but no one is converting to Hinduism,” Sandeep shared his opinion.
In Bobby song, we showed him celebrating his 3rd marriage with 8 kids & 2 wives. Someone complained that we are not showing one community properly. But, no one complained, when many films showed Villain wearing Tilak in last 20-30 years — Pranay Reddy Vanga, Producer of film Animal. pic.twitter.com/NsOdu6XyNW
