The teledensity of India, as a whole, met with a substantial decrease in the month of September, 2017. The month, which recorded a teledensity of 91.56%, is marginally lower than that of the figure in August, which stands at 93.71%. The report, which was unveiled by the Indian Ratings, maintained that it was the urban teledensity, which marred the growth of the overall figure. As per the report, the urban teledensity for September was 168.2%, whereas on August, it stood at 174%.
That said, the rural teledensity figure stood flat at 56.3%. That said, the subscriber growth remained negative in September as well – marking the third consecutive month with negative growth rate in 2017. However, the industry revenue met with a 6.6% increase on a q – o – q, and stands at INR 46,800 Cr.
