Tata Nano turns Jayem Neo: How it is going to work

Tata Motors have unveiled ‘Nano’ car, with the aim of selling cars affordable to the middleclass dreams. The ‘Tata Nano’ met with some level of success and now the company is coming with the same ‘Tata Nano’, but under the title ‘Jayem Neo’. Teaming up with ‘Jayem Automotives’, based in Coimbatore, Tata Motors would be launching the electric models of ‘Nano’ car. Online cab aggregators, ‘Ola’ would partner with ‘Jayem Neo’ in order to fulfill its plans of migrating to electric cars.

The available reports suggest that ‘Jayem Neo’ would be using the body of ‘Tata Nano’, while the latter would reach the hands of former after removing its engine and transmission. Further adding, the current reports claim that ‘Tata’ would start producing its own electric car after a particular period of time. The battery would be designed in the labs of ‘Electra EV’. One of the market leaders in production of batteries electric power trains, ‘Electra EV’ would also be making its presence felt in ‘Jayem Neo’ in terms of publicized brand imaging as well.

Into the details of the engine, the ‘Jayem Neo’ is believed to weigh for some 800kg. The model would be having a 48V battery, which is capable of delivering 23bhp. Once fully charged, the battery will provide an uninterrupted run for 200km for the car. Even if the car consumes maximum power by turning on ‘AC’ and having 4 passengers, it would clock a 140km distance, upon fully charging the battery. Meanwhile, it is said that ‘Jayem Neo’ won’t have a mass production; rather, the model would be exclusively made available for ‘Ola Cabs’. That means, the company might not face any production shortage.
