Tarun Tejpal acquitted in sexual harassment case

New Delhi: Writer and Tehelka founder editor Tarun Tejpal has been acquitted by the Goa Additional Sessions Court in a sexual harassment case. The woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by a female colleague in a hotel elevator in Goa on June 2-13. Tarun Tejpal was present in the court when the verdict of the case was pronounced.

After the trial, the case was adjourned three times. Tejpal’s lawyer, Adv. Rajiv Gomez died last week after contracting Kovid. Goa police had registered an FIR against Tejpal in November 2013 following a complaint by a colleague. Taken. Tejpal has been out on bail since May 2014.

Tarun Tejpal had approached the High Court and the Supreme Court seeking quashing of the sexual harassment case against him but the petitions were rejected.
