Twelve people including Tamil actor Shyam arrested for gambling in an apartment in Chennai. The gambling took place at an apartment in the Nungambakkam area. Police said gambling tokens were recovered from the actor-owned flat.
According to the police, many other prominent actors of Tamil cinema used to come here late at night and gamble during the lockdown. It is not clear if any other actors have been arrested. It is alleged that the actor, who lost a lot of money in gambling, provided information about Sham’s gambling dens. Earlier 12 people have been arrested in a raid on a casino after a student committed suicide after losing money in an online game. He committed suicide after losing Rs 20,000.
Shaam’s last film was ‘Kaaviyyan’ released in 2019. Two more films are under post production stage and one delayed due to Covid pandemic.
