Kolkata: Actor and BJP leader Suresh Gopi has taken over as the president of Satyajit Rai Film and Television Institute. Suresh Gopi informed about taking the position through his social media.
He has also shared pictures from the meetings. Suresh Gopi chaired the first meeting after assuming charge. Suresh Gopi participated in marathon productive discussions with Institute Council, Information & Broadcasting and Finance Ministries.
Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur informed that Suresh Gopi has been appointed as the Chairman of Satyajit Rai Institute on September 23.
Anurag Thakur wrote in X that Suresh Gopi’s vast experience and cinematic prowess will enrich this great institution.
Satyajit Rai Institute of Film and Television operates under the control of the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
The appointment is for three years. Suresh Gopi will also hold the charge of Chairman of the Institute Governing Council.
