State Council calls for Prathibha Scholarships

Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment has notified the Prathibha Scholarship for the academic year 2017 – 18. The scheme of scholarship comes under the title of Talent and Aptitude for Research in Science (STARS). The scholarship is meant for candidates pursuing their Undergraduate education in Science subjects. Out of the total number of scholarships, 50% is reserved for girl students, while a total of 10% of seats are reserved for SC/ST students.

The Council mandates that the applicant should be of Kerala origin, while they have also set the bar on a high note, with a minimum aggregate mark of 95% or equivalent grades for all subjects, while candidates should have to score a minimum of 95% of marks in all the science subjects. Meanwhile, a 5% of mark relaxation is been given to students, who belong to SC/ST categories. The Council also states that students should not be availing any other scholarships in order to be eligible for STARS. The amount of scholarship will be INR 12K, 18K and 24K respectively for the first, second and third years. However, if the students have enrolled for an integrated PG course, then they are eligible to get INR 40K and 60K for an addition of two years.

The last date to apply for the scholarship is 28th September. Candidates should visit www.kscste.kerala.gov.in in order to know the details of applications and other formalities.
