During the inspection conducted by the municipal health department, stale food items were seized from the Aluva district hospital canteen. The canteen of the district hospital was also inspected as part of the raid on various hotels. Stale curries were also seized from Zaitoon Hotel in the city.
Outdated porridge and chapati were seized from the district hospital canteen. Municipal officials conducted the inspection at 5:30 in the morning. Aluva Municipal Health Standing Committee Chairman MP Simon said that the inspection was conducted in the morning to find out whether the food left over from the previous day was being reused.
A warning has been issued to the hotels where the stale food was found. The authorities have also informed that measures have been taken including imposing fines on them. A related report will be given including to the health department.
