Spreading child porn; Cyberdome caught 47 people

State Cyberdome has managed to catch 47 people, including some techies in connection with the case of spreading child porn in the digital space. The action, which was part of the department’s ‘P – Hunt’ has also registered 89 cases against them. During the investigation, the team has also seized 143 electronic equipments, including mobile phones, laptops and hard disks.

Reports suggest that the department has conducted a massive raid across all the districts, with 110 raids being conducted by the Cyberdome. Malappuram registered the highest number of cases (15), whereas Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode reported 4 cases each; in Ernakulam, the department has arrested 5 people. As per the reports, Operation P – Hunt has found that several children were misused by a massive network of perverts.

Cyberdome is reportedly observing more than 92 Whatsapp groups. The raid was conducted by a team that received special training. Shooting and spreading of child porn is a serious criminal offence, practicing of which, would fetch five years of jail sentence and a fine of 10 lakh.
