Putting an end to the long pending question over the absence of world leader Spotify in the Indian market, the company has landed here. Spotify has reportedly opened up a new office in Mumbai, though it is not certain about the starting of operations. Well, the Swedish music service is sure to face stiff competition from local bred services – Gaana and Saavn. With the Indian music service scenario having its share of complexities, it has to be seen how Spotify is going to tackle the issues.
That said, we are yet to get a clear picture over the pricing of Spotify. It is expected to be on par with that of Apple Music – at around INR 120 per month.
