NIA has come up with some frustrating news reports, as the investigation on gold smuggling is progressing. NIA has received orders from the Court, which granted the custody of Sandeep Nair and Swapna Suresh up to 21st this month. Going in line with the reports, the investigating officers has found that the smuggled gold was used mainly for the purpose of boosting terrorist activities.
However, NIA officials have turned down to comment more on this, as the investigation demands secrecy in terms of investigation. The initial reports had suggested that the jewellery businessmen were the end users of smuggled gold. However, with more and more reports hitting the ground, it is certain that the involvement of people in this act, is beyond the surface level.
