Skoda Karoq SUV Launched in India; Price 24.99 Lakhs

Czech carmaker Skoda has launched its karaoke SUV to be the stronghold of the mid-size SUV range in India. The SUV is expected to be priced at Rs 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

The car was launched overseas as a substitute for Skoda’s Yeti SUV. The SUV, which will be showcased at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo in India, will compete with Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson and Volkswagen T-Rock.

The vehicle is powered by a 1.5 liter TSI turbocharged petrol engine. It produces 148bhp and 250Nm of torque. The transmission is a seven speed DSG Automatic Gearbox. It can reach zero to 100 km / h in just nine seconds.

The Karoq is also based on the MQB platform which forms the basis for the Volkswagen T-Rock. The vehicle has a length of 4382 mm, a width of 1841 mm, a height of 1605 mm, a wheelbase of 2638 mm and a ground clearance of 200 mm. The boot space is 521 liters, which can be increased to 1630 liters if the rear seat is folded.

The karaoke is similar in appearance to the Skoda Kodiak. Skoda’s signature butterfly grille, the large LED headlamp provided by the DRLs, the large airdam, the electrically controlled rearview mirror and the silver roof rail are all factors that make Karaoke appealing.

On the back, the C-Shape features an LED tail lamp mounted on the hatchboard, a bumper provided by the claddings, and a hatchboard with a Skoda badging in place of the logo. The dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels are also stylized.

The interior of the karaoke is reminiscent of premium vehicles. The interior is made in black leather and faux leather in faux leather. The eight-inch infotainment system with smart link connectivity, dual tone climate control, multi-function steering wheel and a full-fledged digital instrument console make the interior look attractive.
