The actress attack case has been in headlines in Kerala. Five years after the incident, the actress has not received justice yet. The victim has been backed by several people from the industry as well as her close friends including the playback singer Sayanora Philip.
Sayanora in an interview with Dool News revealed that she missed many opportunities for supporting the actress.
“We were all saddened that day after the incident. There was no distinction in our friendship. Shafna and Shilpa were at Ramya Nambeesan’s house the day incident happened. They called me and were weeping over the phone. And I was quivering,” said Sayanora.
“We know exactly what the actress has experienced over the last five years. Many opportunities slipped away from our hands for supporting her. However, we knew this would definitely happen. At that time, we only thought to stand by her,” she continued.
“The family agreed with my decision and everyone felt proud. She is a member of our family and something like this happened in my family,” Sayanora added.
Sayanora said that it was up to the society to decide whether or not to give them chance to continue in the field.
In 2017, the actress was abducted and alleged assaulted inside her car for two hours by some of the accused who forced their way into the vehicle and later escaped in a busy area of Kochi.
