Twitter is all set to notify more than 7 lakh users, as the company had identified 1,062 accounts associated with IRA. Internet Research Agency (IRA), which is backed by Russia, was earlier noted for making its appearance extensively during the US presidential elections, 2016. While commenting on the IRA accounts, Twitter officials maintained that they had already started notifying users in the US, who follow these accounts.
Twitter officials have reportedly identified more than 50,000 automated accounts with Russian connections. Such suspicious accounts have reportedly created a 60 percentage increase in the global traffic in the platform of Twitter. That said, Twitter is preparing to pump in more investment into strengthening the machine learning for making the platform more efficient.
