Rohit hits half-century and India start against South Africa

Visakhapatnam: Rohit Sharma scored a half-century in the first Test of a three-match series against South Africa. Rohit and co-opener Mayank Agarwal were the top scorers for India in the opening Test. India were 91 for no loss in 30 overs. Rohit Sharma (52) and Agarwal (39) were at the crease.

Rohit hit his 11th half century in 84 balls with five fours and two sixes. He has hit 91 fours and six sixes and a six. India won the toss and elected to bat India were bowled out for 115 off 115 balls. Rain is still threatening the competition.

R Ashwin is also back in the squad for the Wriddhiman Saha team to replace Rishabh Pant. Ashwin, along with Jadeja, will lead India’s spin attack. Hanuma Vihari will also be a part-time bowler. Ishant Sharma and Mohammad Shami are the pacers, while Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli and Ajankya Rahane are the main batsmen.
