Nepal cricket team has included spin bowler Sandeep Lamichane, who was arrested in the case of rape of women. Sandeep Lamichane won the team in the tri-nation cricket tournament where Namibia and Scotland are participating.
Sandeep, a brilliant star of the Nepal cricket team, was arrested for allegedly molesting a minor girl. Later released on bail. Pathan High Court granted bail on January 13.
Sandeep Lamichane has committed a crime punishable by 10 to 12 years in prison. Many people have come out against the Nepal cricket team that included Lamichhana in the team as soon as he was granted bail.
Sandeep Lamichane was arrested by Nepal Police in Kathmandu in October 2022. The court issued the arrest warrant for Lamichana while he was playing for Jamaica Tallahassee in the Caribbean Premier League.
Only 22 years old, Sandeep took 72 wickets for Nepal in 31 ODIs. He also took 85 wickets in 44 T20 matches. The player has played for Delhi Capitals in IPL.
