‘Randamoozham’ shelved..? MT backs off from project

In line with the petition filed by MT Vasudevan Nair, Kozhikode Municipal Court has barred the cinematic adaptation of MT’s novel ‘Randamoozham’. The court will reconsider the case on 25th this month. With MT Vasudevan backing off from the mega project ‘Randamoozham’, it must be seen how director VA Shrikumar Menon tackle the situation. More than the exit of MT with his script from the project, it is the charge levied by MT, which must shame director. While announcing his exit from the project, MT Vasudevan Nair, cited the reason of director breaching the agreement between them. According to MT, director Shrikumar had agreed to make a film out from MT’s script within three years of submitting the script. However, as was mentioned by MT, makers of ‘Randamoozham’ haven’t materialized the project even after four years of handing over the complete script.

Meanwhile, director Shrikumar has come forward with explaining the situation. Not going to refute the points of MT, he agreed that he was unable to meet the expectations of the great director. He however, attributed the reason for delaying ‘Randamoozham’, to the hectic post production works of his directorial debut ‘Odiyan’. He also assured that the project would definitely commission and assured of reaching in on an accord with the great writer. The ad maker turned film director maintained that the shooting of the project would commence by 2019 July. Bankrolled by BR Shetty, ‘Randamoozham’ is said to have a huge budget of INR 1,000 behind it. According to the available reports, the movie is been planned to make in two parts, with superstar Mohanlal essaying the central role of Bheema.
