Thiruvananthapuram: BJP state president K Surendran wants to declare a holiday for state government institutions on January 22, the inauguration day of Ayodhya Ram temple. K Surendran’s statement comes in the context of the announcement of holidays for central government institutions.

The state should also follow the example of declaring a holiday till 2.30 pm for central government institutions on that day. Sri Ram Temple is the national pride of India. Surendran said that Sri Ram is the role model of our country in terms of governance.
The central government has declared a half-holiday for the employees on the occasion of the dedication ceremony of the Ram Temple. The leave is granted to watch the live telecast of the consecration ceremony.
Along with the central government’s declaration of a holiday, BJP-ruled states have also declared a public holiday on that day.
