Rajinikanth is not a Sanghi, and that call hurts; If he was Sanghi, he would not have made a film like “Lalsalaam”, only a person with a lot of humanity could have made this film; Aishwarya Rajinikanth clarified

Chennai: Rajinikanth is not a Sanghi, says his daughter and director Aishwarya Rajinikanth. She was speaking at the audio launch of the film ‘Lalsalam’ in Chennai.

The director was reacting against the labeling and abuse of Rajinikanth as ‘Sanghi’ on social media.

Rajinikanth broke down in tears during his daughter’s speech and it was a rare sight for his fans. Aishwarya’s words-

‘I try to stay away from social media. But my team keeps us informed of what is going on around us. They will also show you some posts.

Seeing all that makes me angry. We are human too. A lot of people have been calling my dad Sanghi recently and it hurts me.

I don’t know what that means. Some were asked what the meaning of Sanghi was. They said that those who support a particular political party are called Sanghi.

I want to make one thing clear, Rajinikanth is not a Sanghi. Had he been Sanghi, he would not have done a film like “Lalsalam”. Aishwarya Rajinikanth said that only a person with a lot of humanity can do this film.

Meanwhile, ‘Lal Salaam’ is the latest film directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth. Vishnu Vishal and Vikrant starrer Rajinikanth in a cameo.
