‘Pushpa: The Rise’, directed by Sukumar, starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, witnessed a tremendous victory at the box office and now Allu Arjun and the team are prepping up for the filming of ‘Pushpa 2’. According to reports, the first schedule of Pushpa 2 will go on floor in July this year.
“While the work on Pushpa 2 has already kickstarted in terms of location scouting and script, Allu Arjun is set to commence work from end of June or in July. Before he jumps to start shooting for Sukumar’s Pushpa 2, AA will take a short trip with his family,” Pinkvilla quoted a source close to the development.
“Sukumar has started reading the script and is focusing more on dialogues which are going to be a trendsetter, same as part one. It is not an easy task as Sukumar always craves perfection and he looks for details. The makers plan to shoot some important scenes in the first schedule. The team is gearing up while Sukumar has begun reading scripts,” the source added.
‘Pushpa: The Rise’ was commercially successful, grossing ₹365 crore at the box office. The film emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film in 2021, and ranks among the highest-grossing Telugu films of all time.
The first of two cinematic parts, the film depicts the rise of a coolie in the smuggling syndicate of red sandalwood, a rare wood that grows only in the Seshachalam Hills of Andhra Pradesh state. The film also featured Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil, his Telugu debut, in a pivotal role alongside Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, Sunil, Rao Ramesh, Dhananjaya, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Ajay and Ajay Ghosh who played supporting roles.
