Priyamani as a special investigation officer in Cyanide

‘Cyanide’ is directed by Rajesh Touchriver based on the life of Cyanide Mohan, a notorious physical education teacher in Karnataka, who killed 20 young women with cyanide.

Priyamani plays the lead role as an IG-ranked Special Investigation Officer investigating the case. Cyanide, a multilingual film, is coming with a large group of award winners in the technical and acting fields. In the Hindi version of the film, which will be available in five languages, Bollywood actor Yashpal Sharma will play the role of a police officer played by Priya Mani.

After Rajesh Touchriver’s first directorial venture, the British film ‘In the Name of Buddha’ and the upcoming film ‘Patnagar’, Shiju will be playing another pivotal role alongside Rajesh Touchriver in South Indian cinema.

Telugu actor and director Tanikela Bharani, Tamil actor Sreeman, Malayalam young actor Sanju Sivaram, Rohini, Mukundan, Shaju from Hindi, Chittaranjan Giri, Ramgopal Bajaj, Sameer and other important characters are playing other important roles.

Rajesh Touchriver is bringing to the silver screen a crime thriller titled ‘Cyanide’, the story of Cyanide Mohan, which the court has observed to be rare. Mohan used to seduce young women from different parts of Karnataka by taking them to hotel rooms and spending a night together and then passing them on with their gold jewelry by giving them a fake cyanide pill called a contraceptive pill.

Cyanide is produced by expatriate businessman Pradeep Narayanan under the banner of Middle East Cinema. Simultaneously shot in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada, the film stars leading actors from five languages.

Director Rajesh Touchriver and Lennon Gopi are writing the dialogues for the Malayalam version of Cyanide, which is being written and scripted by Rajesh Touchtouriver himself. Ravi Punnam and Raja Chandrasekhar wrote the dialogues in the Telugu and Tamil versions respectively. Sadat Zainuddin, who worked with Kamal Haasan in films like Vishwaroopam and Uthamavillan, is the cinematographer. Bollywood music director George Joseph pours the music to the movie

The film will start shooting in Mangalore in January 2021 and will have other locations in Mangalore, Kodagu, Madikeri, Goa, Hyderabad and Kasaragod.
