Kochi: In the High Court, a woman has accused the police of unjustly detaining her for seven hours for wearing a black churidar to watch the journey of the New Kerala delegation attended by the Chief Minister and ministers. Archana has approached the court.
The woman approached the High Court seeking compensation. On December 18, the petitioner was waiting to see the Yatra along with her husband at Randallumoot. The petitioner says that the police detained her on false information that she was standing to protest.
The petitioner alleges that the Kunnikode police took her into custody at 11:30 and took her to the station and released her at 6:30. The petition says that the police did not listen even though he said that he did not come to protest and that he is not a member of any political party.
Meanwhile, the petitioner’s husband is a local office-bearer of the BJP. Justice Devan Ramachandran’s bench adjourned the petition for hearing after a week.
