Launching Jan Samarth, a portal connecting 13 credit-linked government schemes, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said it is necessary to focus on making domestic banks and currency an important part of the international supply chain and trade.
PM Modi inaugurated iconic week celebrations of the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Corporate Affairs today. This week is being celebrated as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ (AKAM) from 6th to 11th June 2022.
The Prime Minister also released a special series of ₹1, ₹2, ₹5, ₹10 and ₹20 coins. These special series of coins will have the theme of the logo of AKAM and will also be easily identifiable to visually impaired persons. It will be part of the circulation.
“These new series of coins will remind people of the goal of ‘amrit kal’ and motivate people to work towards the development of the country,” Modi said.
The Jan Samarth portal will be an ‘end-to-end delivery platform’ and more people will come forward to avail loans because of the ease of compliance, he said.
