Vijay Antony, on his 45th birthday (July 24), announced the sequel to Pichaikaran. The title poster of the movie, which is simultaneously being made in Telugu as well, was released by the star through his official Twitter handle. Titled Pichaikaran 2/ Bichagadu 2, the movie will be directed by Priya Krishnaswamy. Essentially a national award winner, under the direction of Priya Krishnaswamy, the movie is expected to reprise the magic of its sequel.
The story of the film has been penned by Vijay Antony himself, which according to him, got completed during the lockdown. Though we haven’t received any particular dates regarding the starting of the project, it is likely to go on floors by the end of the year. Released in the year 2016, Vijay Antony’s Pichaikaran was subsequently dubbed into Telugu under the title, Bichagadu. Surprisingly, the movie emerged as a blockbuster and has raked in over Rs 20 crore during its final run in the Andhra speaking world. It must be mentioned here that, the rights of the film were sold out for just Rs 50 lakh. However, after Bichagadu, Vijay Antony hasn’t managed to find a perfect chord with the Telugu audience.
