Thrissur: Footage of papans brutally beating elephants in Guruvayur Elephant Kota is out. The footage of two elephants being beaten by papans has been released.
It is reported that the elephants brought to Shivali in Guruvayur temple were brutally beaten. Videos of elephants being brutally beaten were widely circulated on social media.
These papans were suspended in the incident. Authorities have started an investigation. After the video came out, doctors reached the spot and examined the elephants.
At the same time, the Anakotta authorities explained that what came out was not new footage. Officials also informed that a report has been handed over to the Devaswat regarding the incident.
The elephants were beaten on the south side of the Shivaliparam where the elephants are tied to the temple Shivali. In the footage, the elephant is being beaten severely with a stick.
The scenes show the elephants Krishna, Kesavankutty and Gajendra brought to bathe at Shivaliparam. In this, the elephants named Krishna and Kesavankutty are beaten. Krishna is an elephant played by former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.
