‘Our lads were playing well and the omen came and the game was lost’; Rahul Gandhi criticized without naming names; BJP wants Rahul to apologize for insulting Prime Minister

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi taunted Prime Minister Narendra Modi who came to the stadium to watch the World Cup cricket match. Rahul Gandhi quipped that the Indian team played well until Modi arrived at the stadium and lost the game when the bad omen arrived.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi’s taunt was without mentioning Modi’s name. Rahul Gandhi’s taunt was while addressing an election rally in Rajasthan’s Jalore. During the rally, someone in the crowd shouted ‘Panotti’, (a word meaning unlucky or bad omen).

In reply, Rahul laughed and said: ‘Han… panooty, panooty… our kids were playing well and winning, but when the bad omen came, the game was lost, the media is not pointing this out, Rahul said without mentioning Modi’s name.

Even though he did not mention the name of the Prime Minister, BJP says that Rahul promoted Modi himself. With this, BJP leaders have come forward to criticize Rahul. BJP demanded Rahul Gandhi’s apology.

‘Rahul Gandhi, what happened to you? You are using such words against the Prime Minister of the country. Our PM met the players and motivated them. Winning and losing is part of the game. Rahul Gandhi should apologise,’ said BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad.
