THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Transport Minister AK Saseendran has said that the Lerner’s license tests, which were suspended as part of Covid-19 regulations, will be resumed from July 1. However, he said the tests would be conducted online until further notice. In this case, such a procedure is being avoided by the applicants in the presence of the Motor Vehicle Department directly in order to avoid the spread of Covid-19 disease.

The Department of Motor Vehicles has been instructed to provide a facility for those who have submitted their applications online by using their computer or mobile phones at their respective places. Test participants will be able to issue a Leaner License online and they will be able to print and use it themselves. If the Leaner’s license need to be renewed after six months, they can be renewed online.

Success in the test is when a specified number of questions are answered correctly from the question bank relating to motor vehicle laws. The Department of Motor Vehicles will notify the number of applicants who can take the test one day and the time of the test. The minister said that all people should understand the motor vehicle laws and the road rules and that this is necessary for the protection of self and other road users and not just pass the test.
