“Old Emotional-drama films do not have space now,” says SN Swamy

Kerala audience is now eagerly waiting for the CBI 5: The Brain, the trio Mammootty-K Madhu-SN Swamy film. The first film of the CBI series was released way back in 1988. Now, people are curious to witness the new style of the series. ‘CBI 5: The Brain will release on May 1.

SN Swamy’s script will play an important role in the film. He has written mostly detective or crime investigation films. The veteran also said that he sometimes felt that some of the films he had written were not needed. He added that not only the success of the film but also the criticisms and negative impacts are affected. SN Swamy was speaking in an interview with Media One channel.

‘It’s not just the success of a film. The criticism that came with it, the negative impact it had, all of these affected us. We are not any extra-ordinary creatures, are we? I don’t want to say which movie it is. Many films have been influenced in that way. Some films I felt, I should not have done, “said SN Swamy.

“Cinema has changed a lot from the old days. Emotional movies were of great importance at one time. Emotional means family, social and political movies. Emotionally, such movies greatly influenced people in those days. That period has changed,” he said.

SN Swamy added, ” Today, people have a broad outlook. There have been changes not only in film but in every field. Emotional and drama films are not as popular now as they used to be, and people are not interested in it.”
