Ola has taken over the operations of Foodpanda Group. With this, the cab aggregator Ola has ventured to the food delivery business. When contacted, the officials of Ola and Foodpanda were seen reluctant to share the financial details of the deal. It must be mentioned right here in that Ola has had an unsuccessful stint in the food delivery business, OlaCafe.
Foodpanda’s parent group Delivery Hero has had a good run in India and company officials maintained that Ola’s efficiency in operations would be beneficial for Foodpanda. As per the industry insiders’ report, Ola might be pumping $200 million for the operations of Foodpanda. The amount, translated into Indian standards, would be approximately equal to INR 1,282 Cr.
