Now, Aadhaar mandatory for open school examinations

MHRD Ministry has made it clear that students would have to carry Aadhaar cards, in order appear for open school examinations. The latest decision is expected to curb candidates impersonating during the examinations. The decision would come into effect by next year’s examinations onward. Earlier, during the March term examinations held this year, many have reported the practice of impersonation taking place.

It is reported that scanners will be installed in all the examinations centers, while candidates can only appear for examinations, if their thumb impressions matched with that of their Aadhaar cards. National Institute of Open Learning (NIOS), which is in charge of conducting the examinations, would also be recording the whole examination procedures
