Minister VS Sunilkumar says there is no need for a triple lockdown in Ernakulam city at this time. Currently, the situation is under control and a triple lockdown can only be instituted if necessary. Meanwhile, a meeting chaired by the minister has decided to temporarily open the police presence tomorrow after disinfecting the Aluva and Champakara markets. The authorities have warned that strict action will be taken if the public does not comply with the directives of health department.
Meanwhile Six new containment zones have been announced in Ernakulam. Pallippuram Grama Panchayat Wards 21 and 22, Munambam Fishing Harbor and Market in Ward 3, Wards 13 and 4 in Edathala Grama Panchayath and 5th Ward in Keezhmadu Grama Panchayat are added to the restricted area.
