Nitish Kumar, who dissolved the Grand Alliance government and returned to the NDA, took office as the Chief Minister again.
Nitish Kumar’s move to NDA came amid India’s alliance.
This is the ninth time that Nitish Kumar has become the Chief Minister of Bihar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Nitish Kumar just before taking oath as the Chief Minister. The Prime Minister also promised more development projects for Bihar.
Meanwhile, BJP’s Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Simha were also sworn in as Deputy Chief Ministers.
Bihar will now be ruled by the BJP-JDU coalition government. BJP National President JP Nadda and others attended the swearing-in ceremony.
This is the second time in the last 17 months that Bihar has taken the oath of office. Both are BJP leaders. It is not clear who will be given the portfolios held by Tejashwi Yadav.
Nitish Kumar submitted his resignation letter to the Governor this morning. All the BJP MLAs handed over a letter to the leadership in support of Nitish Kumar.
In August 2022, Nitish Kumar left the NDA relationship and became a part of the RJD-Congress Mahagadbandhan. Later, Nitish, who started for the India alliance, left the alliance half way and joined the opposition slums, which has taken the alliance by storm.
