There are reports that PC George will contest in Pathanamthitta. Yes, it is rumored that PC George may contest in his own parliamentary constituency, Pathanamthitta, in the next Lok Sabha elections as the Janapasam is cooperating with the NDA. With this, the PC will also be able to face his lifelong political enemy and his own countryman, Anto Antony. Along with the assembly constituencies of Pathanamthitta district, Pathanamthitta Lok Sabha constituency includes Kanjirapalli and Poonjar in Kottayam district. Last time sitting MP Anto Antony was confronted by Minister Veena George, who was Aranmula MLA at that time, and BJP state president K Surendran.
Another, in 2019, NDA won 2,97,396 votes from Pathanamthitta. On the strength of this, Pathanamthitta has also been included in the list of A plus constituencies in Kerala. The party has also given the charge of the constituency to Shobha Karantalaja, Union Minister of Agriculture. In the last elections, the BJP managed to garner good votes in the Pathanamthitta constituency but could not win. The party had assessed that this was because it was unable to attract Christian voters. Therefore, the BJP national leadership is of the opinion that the candidate who can collect these votes can win the constituency only. It is on this basis that PC George, a senior leader in Kerala politics, is being considered in Pathanamthitta.
