Naked body painting using children; Rehana Fatima surrendered

Rehana Fathima has surrendered before the Circle Inspector of Thevara South Station over the case of painting naked body with children. Subsequently, her arrest was recorded at the police station. Up next, she would be produced before the court through video conferencing, while she is all set to undergo the Covid examination. Earlier, last day, Rehana Fatima’s anticipatory bail application was rejected by the Supreme Court. While turning down her bail plea, the SC pointed out that her actions fall under the category of sex offenses involving child.

When asked about her future plans with the case, Rehana said that she would fully co-operate with further investigations. Rehana’s husband Manoj Sreedhar said that they believe in justice and added that his wife hadn’t done anything wrong. He also thanked all those who supported her through various media platforms. The controversies began, when she posed her nude body before her children, who painted her body. When controversies popped up, she reacted that it was part of upholding her viewpoints related to Body and Politics. However, with criticisms being raised from several quarters of the society, Pocso case was charged against her under the Sections of 13,14, and 15 of the Pokso Act, apart from Section 67B (d) of the IT Act and Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act.
