Chanthu, the son of Salim Kumar, has entered the Malayali mind through Manjummal Boys. Before acting in Manjummal Boys, Chanthu acted in two films of his father when he was young. Chanthu got an invitation to Manjumal Boys when he wanted a role with an identity away from all that. Chanthu is currently an LLB student. Chantu jokingly says that my father sees me as a lawyer who charges 25 lakhs per sitting. Chantu is ready to study LLB for his father. Chanthu says that he grew up watching movies from a young age. Now the actor is acting in the Tovino Thomas starrer. Chanthu was offered the role of Jean Paul Lal Nadikar when he went to act in Manjummal Boys. Now, Chanthu is revealing the story behind getting the chance to act in Nadikar.
Chanthu also revealed his father Salimkumar's reaction when he got the chance to act. Chanthu was speaking in an interview given to Django Space TV. 'Dad is very happy after the release of Manjummal Boys. Manjummal Boyz is not my only film. Ganu, Soubin and Jean Chetan are all dear to my father. I had told my father that when Jean Chetan called Nadikar. That's what my father said. Go and do that movie where you don't have to listen to the story…don't play the man by asking for the story. My father said that you should do that film anyway. I was determined to do it anyway.'
