MPV ready for Maruti-Toyota partnership The main competitor is Mahindra Maraso

Maruti has announced that it will be launching MPVs and SUVs of less than Rs 20 lakh to strengthen its presence in the Indian automobile market. Maruti Suzuki is planning to make this a reality soon. These vehicles will be built with Toyota.

The Toyota-Maruti joint venture will be priced below Rs 20 lakh. According to reports, the vehicle will be available to compete with Mahindra’s Marraso, which is performing well in the Indian market.

In addition, the company plans to strengthen its mid-size SUV range by 2022. Maruti Vitara Breza will be launched on the platform and will compete with Hyundai Creta and Kia Celtos.

The MPV will be manufactured at Toyota’s Bidadi plant. From design to technology, both companies will collaborate. However, it is unclear when this MPV will arrive.

The first vehicle in the Maruti-Toyota collaboration was the Toyota Glanza, a re-badging model of Maruti Baleno. Both companies are targeting to deliver electric and hybrid vehicles in the coming years.
