Thiruvananthapuram: The court severely criticized the mother who was convicted in the POCSO case. The court criticized the mother who connived with her boyfriend to torture her seven-year-old daughter in Thiruvananthapuram.

The Thiruvananthapuram POCSO court criticized the accused as an insult to motherhood and does not deserve any mercy. The POCSO court pointed out that the childhood of the seven-year-old girl in the case was ruined because of her mother.

The child’s childhood is ruined because of the mother who is the parent and protector of the child. The court also assessed that the child’s life, which should have been happy, was ruined due to the action of the accused.

The court has sentenced the mother to 40 years imprisonment and a fine. The prosecution case was that the mother cooperated despite knowing that her boyfriend was torturing her daughter.

The victim’s sister informed the police. The police had arrested the child’s mother and her boyfriend Sishupalan in the case.

The accused woman in the case left her mentally unwell husband and started living with her boyfriend. Her seven-year-old daughter was living with her mother.

The elder child was living with his father’s mother. The case is that from March 2018 to September 2019, the seven-year-old girl was molested by her mother’s boyfriend. The elder sister who came to see the child was also molested by the mother’s boyfriend.

The elder sister says that the younger sister, who lives with her mother, is suffering constant torture. The information about the harassment was given during counseling. The police intervened and shifted the two children to a children’s home.

Later, the police registered a case. The younger boy testified that his mother did not stop him despite informing him about the abuse and he was tortured even in his mother’s presence.

The mother was also accused in the case of torturing the younger child. The court also ordered that the District Legal Service Authority should pay compensation to the two children who are still in the children’s home.

Adv. RS Vijayamohan argued as a special public prosecutor in the case. At the same time, the first accused Sishupalan committed suicide during the trial period of the case.
