The mother of a young man who was arrested in an excise case committed suicide. The deceased is Grace Clement (55), a native of Thiruvananthapuram.
Grace committed suicide early Saturday morning. Excise team caught son Shino with four grams of MDMA yesterday evening. According to Excise, Shino regularly sells drugs.
Relatives say that Grace was in a state of mental turmoil after her son was caught by the excise.
He tried to hang himself at home around five o’clock this morning. The relatives who noticed immediately removed the rope from his neck and took him to the hospital, but his life could not be saved. The body is currently in the medical college mortuary.
