The visit of Indian PM Narendra Modi to the Leh, is considered by many as a warning to China. The visit of the PM to the region, in spite of the harsh climate conditions, was the result of a highly secret planning held by the top authorities. The primary motive behind the PM’s visit to the Leh, was to motivate the troops near the border, who fought with the Chinese last month.

The Prime Minister went directly from Leh to the military base at Nimu. He was accompanied by the Joint Chief of Staff, General Bipin Rawat and the Army Chief Manoj Mukund Naravane. Kept as a secret, Modi’s visit to the Leh wasn’t divulged, until he landed at the Leh Airport. The visit was the brainchild of the National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, who took in charge of the office, after undertaking a two week quarantine period in Delhi.

BJP leadership praised PM Modi’s visit to the Leh. Home Minister Amit Shah has taken twitter to congratulate the Prime Minister for his Leh visit. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that the Prime Minister’s meeting with the troops has helped to boost the confidence of the Army. Rajnath Singh tweeted that Indian borders are safe under the Army and thanked the Prime Minister. Communication minister Prakash Javadekar said the visit to Leh was a message to the people of the nation.
