Mass resignation in Vattiurkavu Congress, more than 100 people leave the party; Leadership in shock

More than 100 members including DCC leaders are leaving the party in Thiruvananthapuram, Vattyoorkavu.

Those who had earlier joined the rebel meeting in Vattiyoorkavi are resigning. KPCC president handed over his resignation letter to K. Sudhakaran. The resignation was handed over by 104 people from Vattiurkav block where the KPCC headquarters is located.

The leaders say that they are resigning in protest of not releasing the accused. The protest is against the lack of action against KPCC members D. Sudarshan and Sastamangalam Mohanan. The resignation also demands that they should be removed from their duties.

In the 2021 Assembly elections, the Congress candidate in Vattiyoorkavil was miserably defeated in the third position. It is alleged that Sudarshan and Shastamangalam Mohanan first made public criticism regarding the selection of candidates and later they themselves took charge of the election committee and sabotaged the election activities.

The reason behind the mass resignation is that those responsible for the failure are still hiding in the leadership and no action has been taken against them and they are making a secret understanding with BJP and CPM during the elections. The resignation signed by more than 100 people is against appointing them as the heads of new committees without taking action against those who regularly engage in anti-party activities.
