As the market demand turned adverse, Maruti Suzuki has decided discontinuing the diesel variant of the Ignis model in India. Though Ignis has not met the market expectations upon the launch, the petrol variant however has managed to pull off better sales figures. Showcased at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, the petrol variant of Maruti Ignis comes with a 1.3 liter DDiS engine. Apart from a 5 speed manual gearbox, the Ignis was also made available with a 5 speed AMT version as well.
The diesel variant was capable of generating a peak power of 74bhp at 4,000rpm, while the peak torque figure at 2,000rpm, stands at 190Nm.
