The shooting of the Indo-Arabic movie ‘Ayisha’ starring Manju Warrier has been completed in Kozhikode. Helmed by debutant Aamir Pallikkal, the upcoming film is simultaneously made in Malayalam, Arabic, and, English, and dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada languages.
There has been a flurry of stories about Manju Warrier’s ‘Ayisha’ since filming began in Ras Al Khaimah. Apart from being the first Malayalam Arabic film, Ayisha will be available in seven languages including English. Malayalam’s lady superstar Manju Warrier is set to become a pan-India star.
Manju Warrier’s character will be speaking English, and Arabic in the film, and the major parts of the film was shot in the Gulf. Since the movie showcases a mix of Indo-Arabic cultures, ‘Ayisha’ will also have some prominent Arab actors. Foreign actors such as Sajna, Purnima, Lathifa (Tunisia), Salama (UAE), Jennifer (Philippines), Sarafina (Nigeria), Sumayya (Yemen), Islam (Syria) are also in the line-up.
‘Ayisha’ is being produced by director Zachariah under the banner of Cross Border Cinema.
The film is scripted by Ashif Kakkodi, and Vishnu Sarma has roped in as the cinematographer. Appu N Bhattathiri is the editor, while the music is done by M Jayachandran. Prabhudeva has roped in as the choregrapher.
