Producer Anto Joseph must be having a happy time right now, as his long wait for the theatrical release of The Priest has finally come to an end. The Mammootty – Manju Warrier starrer, which opened to packed houses yesterday, also brought the much needed confidence for Malayalam film makers to go for theatrical release. The success meet of The Priest held today, saw Anto Joseph revealing that it was the Mammootty factor, which helped the movie to get a theatrical release.

While speaking before the media, Anto Joseph maintained that even though they kept receiving handsome offers from OTT platforms, it was Mammootty, who insisted on going for a theatrical release for The Priest. He even added that the sanction received for ‘second shows’ too was due to the influence of Mammootty – without which theatrical releases are never going to be profitable.
