Mahima Chaudhry has been roped in to play the role of cultural activist and author Pupul Jayakar in Kangana Ranaut’s anticipated film, ‘Emergency’. She revealed that Pupul Jayakar was Indira Gandhi’s childhood friend so her scenes are the ones where you get to see the non-political side of the great leader.
Sharing the first look, Kangana who is also producing the film wrote, “Presenting @mahimachaudhry1 as the One who witnessed it all, and wrote for the world to see the Iron Lady up, close and personal. #PupulJayakar Friend, Author & Confidante. #Emergency.”
In the film, Kangana Ranaut will be seen playing former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and actor Anupam Kher, the revolutionary leader J.P. Narayan. Shreyas Talapade will essay the role of late politician Atal Bihari Vajpayee who has served three terms as the country’s Prime Minister.
Manikarnika films presents ‘Emergency’, which is written and directed by Kangana Ranaut. The film is produced by Renu Pitti and Kangana Ranaut. The screenplay and dialogues are by Ritesh Shah.
