Kerala has retained the number one position in the Sustainable Development Index of the Finance Commission. Kerala has 75 points. Himachal Pradesh is in the second position with 74 points. Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Goa and Uttarakhand (72 points each) are in the third position. Chandigarh tops Union Territory with 79 points
Chhattisgarh, Nagaland, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, UP, Assam, Jharkhand and Bihar are at the bottom of the list. Kerala lags behind in terms of gender equality, industrial growth and economic growth. Rajeev Kumar, Vice Chairman, Financial Commission, and Amitabh Kant, CEO, released the index today at NewDelhi.
